What BuildStep is

BuildStep is interview-preparation practice. It assembles questions, grades your answers and reports where you are weak. It is a practice tool, not a certification, a qualification or a promise of employment.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for everything done under your account. One account is for one person; sharing it is not allowed.

You can delete your account at any time from the account page. Deletion is permanent and removes your sessions, answers and scores.

Plans and payment

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Monthly and annual plans renew until you cancel; cancelling stops the next renewal and access continues to the end of the period already paid for. The Sprint is a one-off purchase that ends by itself after 21 days and does not renew.

Fair-use limits apply to unlimited plans so one account cannot exhaust shared capacity. The current limits are shown on the pricing page.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape, republish or resell the question bank, the rubrics or the reference solutions. Do not attempt to escape the code-execution sandbox, attack the infrastructure, or use the service to run workloads unrelated to answering a question.

Code you submit runs in an isolated container with no network access. Do not submit anything you are not entitled to share.

Grading

Scores are computed by our own arithmetic from a fixed rubric or from real test execution. Grading is not infallible. Every attempt has a dispute button, and a person reviews each dispute.

Content ownership

Questions, rubrics, reference solutions and explanations are original work and remain ours. Your answers remain yours; you grant us the licence needed to store, grade and display them back to you.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee that practising here leads to any particular interview outcome. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the preceding twelve months.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we will say so in the product before the change takes effect.
